| 771024 | 2009-05-04 20:43:00 | I am preparing to install Win 7 64 bit. I have copied and pasted outlook express from my c: to d: What I want to know. After my new OS is installed can I copy OE to it? Will it still work? Will it still retain saved posts and address book. The copy in D: still has all the info I want to save Jack |

OE would need to be installed rather that just running the .exe you copied and it's probably not Win7 compatible. Instructions for transferring email to Live. (windowshelp.microsoft.com) You should try downloading Live Mail (http://download.live.com/) - or in Win7, click Start - Getting Started - Get Windows Live Essentials. It's a free addon to Win7. I would think that has the capability to import mail from OE. |

Make sure that you back up your message store, address book etc. and not the Outlook Express executable (support.microsoft.com), and follow autechre's instructions for migrating to Live Mail. |
