770760 2009-05-04 01:01:00 If I have a computer with wireless networking and a wireless printer can I connect the two without going through a network? McGinty48 (14880)

770762 2009-05-04 01:40:00 Don't quote me on this - but I think I've seen a setup with a wireless brother inkjet and a PC, seperate of a wireless router.

All you can do is run the setup CD and see if it detects the printer.

I have seen and setup a couple of Epsons that customers have had that have a wireless connection on them - no need to go through a router - as Wratterus said, when installing there was an option in the setup CD to detect the wireless.

770764 2009-05-04 05:55:00 You can get a wireless print server. Installed a D-Link one the other day.
Wasn't too hard, as long as you know your wireless setup.
Just follow the instructions that come with it.

Jeff.

It's going to be via a network in some way, probably an Ad-Hoc wifi network, which should be suitable for your requirements.

770767 2009-05-05 23:47:00 AFAIK most WiFi printers dont support ad-hoc, only infrastructure mode. Chilling_Silence (9)
770768 2009-05-05 23:55:00 It's a mixed bag, some do, some don't. inphinity (7274)
