| 772176 | 2009-05-08 06:56:00 | For the past few years I have been using AVG Anti-Virus on my desktop & laptop, but now AVG has stopped proving updates for AVG 7.5. I am now looking for some new Anti-Virus software I was thinking of upgrading to AVG 8.5, but after what I have heard about the problems people have had with it, I think I will give it a miss for now. (I am trying AVG 8.5 on one of our other computers, which had 7.5, so I will see how it goes) Any recommendations? (Preferably free Anti-Virus software) |

It updates in the background, rather than takes over your computer as soon as you boot up as AVG does. I recommend it. No regrets for switching to Avast from AVG. The only thing is when updating it the very first time, it takes a long, long time. Be prepared to leave it there for hours. It's updates fine after that. |
