| 771543 | 2009-05-06 22:37:00 | Tried to install IE8 after downing it manually,as I do with Micro updates. It wouldn't even start up after a couple of install tries.Went to safe mode and uninstalled 8,then tried reinstalling IE7.That starts, then comes up with a message that it's encountered a problem and needs to close, more info states Error signature....AppName:iexplore.exe....AppVer:7.0.60 00.16827...ModName:msvcrt.dll.......ModVer.7.0.260 0.5512.........Offset:00036fa3...... Just done a scannow as suggested on one site, hasn't helped. And a lot of links on Google go to pay sites to get the answer. Anyone have any clues?I only use IE to go to Micro site. Thanks. |

| 771548 | 2009-05-07 00:20:00 | Can you get into internet options? Right Click IE>Properties or Control Panel>Internet options Blam |

| 771549 | 2009-05-07 00:22:00 | Yep, see if you can reset IE to defaults. Could you post a HJT (www.trendsecure.com) log? Just do we can double check theres nothing obvious that could be causing the problem. |

| 771552 | 2009-05-07 01:49:00 | Using XP Pro SP3 all updated.Well, just let it install an update for IE7, which it thinks I have, and it cut my internet connection. So System Restore does come in handy! | Neil McC (178) | ||
