The poor dears, probably had a bad upbringing,or better still you could let them move in with you and you could talk them to death, though this may be too cruel. Can you not enter a discussion without insults, Cicero? Perhaps you could just put your point of view across without that sort of crap for a change? |

One thing's for sure, I hear little said in support of our justice system (or indeed, in support of any branch of government). I find it interesting that those most critical of government intervention in their lives would like to hand the power of life and death over to them - along with what amounts to an admission that they must be running the justice system well enough not to completely screw up the process of executing criminals. Seems a little inconsistent. |

| 602474 | 2007-10-19 10:20:00 | I wasn't dismissing your facts, just asking relevance. The fact that the South executes more people says to me that the problem is so big that the severe punishment is required. Seems to me your "facts" suport this.:D I can see why they do what they do. |

| 602475 | 2007-10-19 10:21:00 | Of course they would screw up the process of executing criminals. Thats expected. A few innocents would die. At least all the pedo's would be gone. |

| 602476 | 2007-10-19 10:57:00 | The fact that the South executes more people says to me that the problem is so big that the severe punishment is required. It tends to support the notion that the executions aren't working as a deterrent, though. Or is your interest in executing pedophiles based purely on revenge? (Help the kids after they've been abused by killing the abuser?) |

| 602477 | 2007-10-19 11:04:00 | How does it "tend" to say its not working as a deterrent? Jail hasn't eradicated murder, Lets drop that shall we?, Give everyone a hug, say we are sorry for creating a society they can't behave in and send them home.... |

| 602478 | 2007-10-19 13:35:00 | What I find interesting is the fact that where they have very relaxed gun laws in the USA the murder rate is well down. I got told by a New Yorker how if you were ever unsure of where you were then put one hand in your pocket(not two) and because they didn't know what was in the other pocket they left you alone. I only ever used that once when I was walking through a shady area of DC. |

There was a flurry of thought that the constitution might be changed to allow Arnie to run for president . . . but he is still disqualified by the "natural born" part of the rule . He has lost a lot of appeal . . . most of it immediately after his resounding defeat on a major referendum that got shot all to pieces by the voters, the teachers' unions and unions in general . After that, he was declared toothless and that he didn't have an idea how to "governate" the state so how could he even consider a presidential run . . . if he were qualified, that is . His party affiliation was even muddied by being married to one of the Kennedy clan and therefor painted as a bleeding heart liberal while he campaigned on a Republican ticket and was elected as one such, Even if the law was changed, it would not apply to him as he is an incumbent and would be out of the results anyway . Doesn't it take agreement of three quarters of the State legislatures to amend the Constitution anyway? That might be a tough call for Arnie's supporters to pull off just to get a run at the presidency. |
