| 771563 | 2009-05-08 10:32:00 | Hi wratterus. Not really sorted! After restoring with last weeks image I updated everything except IE8,and restored emails etc. Then did another image and tried to install IE8 again. It came up with a message that windows didn't have permission etc on the boot screen. And IE wouldn't run again. So I reloaded the image and thought stuff IE8*!!!!!!!! 7 will do to get updates. And yes I'm using Shiretoko (Firefox). And have Opera etc for those tricky occasions. Thanks again. |

| 771567 | 2009-05-09 21:48:00 | blam6,why would I have to run an update from Microsoft that way?It all installed correctly, according to the blurb at the end. It is just on reboot that it doesn't work.Doesn't even open! Rob99.Thanks for the link but I'm not having any trouble with my Windows updater.I have it set to only notify me .I then go to Microsoft update site with Firefox and download the ones it says I need. That way I can pass them on to some others who are not on broadband. I'm sticking with IE7 now for the odd occasion I need to use it. Thanks for all your help. |
