Latest free version is 8 Hope thats a JOKE - this week alone I have had to repair 7 PC's that HAD AVG8 - what a heap of rubbish (and thats being polite) - PC's lock up, the AV wont update, kills the Internet - and still misses LOTS of viruses. |

| 772191 | 2009-05-12 06:32:00 | I went from AVG 7.5 to Avira then Avast then to AVG8.5 Its a matter of what you like the best as no one system will get them all.I like the way AVG works how I set it up I also use Malwarebytes Anti malware. Your poor mother... This thread has 9 recommendations for avast & only 2 for AVG (with criticism of it from wainuitech, who sees heaps more examples than most of us) So you download the top player & stick the booby prize on hers..? I do hope you've told her that - and explained WHY? |

| 772195 | 2009-05-12 11:42:00 | 2 for AVG (with criticism of it from wainuitech, who sees heaps more examples than most of us) Hmmm Still misses lots - Today - working on a Customers PC - they complained it was "slow and doing funny things" had latest AVG - all up to date - said it was clean. Removed AVG - installed nod32 - removed 7 viruses and around 300 Spyware, ran other antispyware programs, removed a further 2259 infections.(that number is not a typo) |
