602318 2007-10-17 05:01:00 Interesting, I am pi***d off with Sky after being an early adopter with the UHF system many years ago. Now a sattelite user.

If you have a problem and ring up for some info you usually get someone who does not really know a lot about things. I sort of expect them to say.... "Would you like fries with that?"

The Discovery, NG, History and Documentary channels are full of re-runs, usually trumpeted as "Premiering on...", but turn out to be the same old programs with a new name. This happens frequently.

I have had emailed queries re programming and very rarely get a reply.

I am thinking of chucking Sky for all these and other reasons. They are a monopoly and deserve what they get.

I am thinking of going back to steam radio for my rugby, and finding a DVD rental company that has lots of docos in stock. I am not a movie person. Any suggestions anyone?

Would I be best to wait for the terrestrial through a UHF arial as I believe this will have the best quality picture.

Freeview isn't broadcast at 1024x576 resolution as your image shows.. also you should of used a NON lossy picture format.

I've been hearing this for years but until someone goes on air it's still "vaporware"

602327 2007-10-18 20:02:00 Well, its either $18, or $200 for the receiver you need for Freeview.

Well freeview isnt actualy FREE. You still need the receiver to see it.

The receiver is not free, but the freeview broadcasts are free

besides, it's a one-off cost - no monthly subscription crap
