2007-10-16 01:54:00 | Talking about old age, I learned this morning that I have to have a colonoscopy later this month. Wow. Try and get a copy of the footage and put it on YouTube. Or is it "YourTube"?

2007-10-16 02:48:00 | Very good R2 & Deane! At least I have the comfort of knowing that the surgeon has done many, many of this procedure in the past. I guess I will not know much about it at the time anyway, and will certainly not have 'Colonoscopy-the Movie' in full technicolour, put out for general release. | Richard (739) | |
2007-10-16 03:43:00 | I also have had two and will not need any more as now have the 'all clear'. Richard, my advice is to tell the nurse and surgeon that you want to be sedated prior to the 'insertion'. The first time the doc started going in and while it did not hurt as in scream with pain, it was really weird and uncomfortable (yeah ok I can hear you guys laughing!!). And if you have a good sense of humour you can say this to the doc "You know, in Arkansas we would be cousins doing this sort of thing!" Lots of other colonoscopy jokes - google 'em. Almost forgot - when I visited a friend in hospital (another city), I saw a car with this registration plate "DR POO". Yep, you guessed it - he's the proctologist! True story!

2007-10-16 04:02:00 | I remember that scene in one of the Burt Reynolds/Dom DeLouise "Cannonball Rally" movies where they needed a doctor to ride in a phoney ambulance, and Dom was to get the doc . When he got there (with Ron Ely), Burt asks where his doctor's bag is and Ely points his finger out and says: "Don't carry a bag . . . I'm a proctologist"! Anyway . . the docs here gave me an anesthesia that causes amnesia . . and I argued that I hadn't had the procedure and they most assuredly told me that I had . My wife confirmed that I had been in the facility on such-and-such a date . . . but I still couldn't remember it . Good thing too! I used to be a virgin . <I just realized that I helped hijack my own thread . . kewl!>

2007-10-16 04:29:00 | As I was living in Australia at the time I bought a Sega sc3000 along with a SC7000. And don't forget my 300/75 modem. That was my first personal computer. homepages.paradise.net.nz Many happy hours writing programs in BASIC. The first one I used was a Burroughs B3500 mainframe and also the TC500 terminal.
