| 772294 | 2009-05-08 15:55:00 | Is it possible to create a shortcut in MS Outlook 2007 and drag and drop emails from your inbox to that location from within MS Outlook? This is not referring to PST file but actually saving a email into a folder location for e.g on a shared drive or even to a local folder. This is ismilar to opening an email and then going 'File' - 'Save As' and then saving as a .msg email to a folder location, but instead of doing that, you just drag and drop the email into the shortcut (located in your left window pane) in Outlook Can this be done. Thanks |

| 772295 | 2009-05-09 22:26:00 | Hmmm ... I don't think you can. You can add the folder under the outlook shortcut section, but I can't see how you can drag and drop emails into it. Have a read of this: How do I add file shortcut in Outlook 2007 navigation pane? (help.lockergnome.com) I followed the instructions given in the last post by Roady [MVP] to create a new shortcut folder to open up "My Documents". But as I said, I can't see how to keep this folder in the same view as your inbox so you can drag and drop emails onto it. Edit: Ah ha! I needed another coffee. I have my "My Documents" folder in the same view as my inbox now, but each time I try to drag an email onto it, I get the "no-go" icon (circle with a line across it), indicating that action is not available. |
