605166 2007-10-25 04:04:00 Who of you out there likes geeky gadgets? This is what my daughter bought her husband for Christmas this year. Check it out here> http://www.chumby.com/

She was on a waiting list for almost six months (in the US) I'd be interested to see what sort of other geeky gadgets are out there and what sorts of things people like.

605169 2007-10-25 05:37:00 Since they're not going to even produce the Palm Foleo, how does that analogy work WMG? beeswax34 (63)
605170 2007-10-25 05:44:00 Competition although I don't think the Foleo was well planned since it was killed at birth. winmacguy (3367)
605171 2007-10-25 06:06:00 Two weeks ago I bought Mrs Misty for her birthday the gadget she wanted. It is a digital photo frame. When I checked all over the North Shore there were only three or four basic frames available. Phillips (over -expensive and don't trust), Agfa and one or two other brands. Got the Agfa, also over-expensive for what it is, but she loves it. Put in a xcard with a file of photos and switched it on and she can watch, on the cabinet in the lounge, our kids growing up through photos.

A year from now they will be a helluva lot cheaper and bigger and more versatile -- but for now for once she is the first to have something instead of the last. Who knows, one day we might trade in the crt televisions :horrified

Simple -- but great !!

That alarm clock on wheels sort of appeals to me. Once it goes off, the device takes off across the room and you have to chase it to turn it off. One way of getting you out of bed on time. :D

Here it is - clocky (www.nandahome.com).

Not exactly a new gadget now, but still. :P

I could not find one with batteries though did see them overseas when i googled. The one we have is plugged in. It also plays MP3's though I think you have to wear earphones, so you can match the photos and music. It also has a calendar etc. Only 7" screen but still very good definition. Has two outside frames so you can chose to change from time to time. We think the black is the best frame but the silver is very nice too.
