| 604676 | 2007-10-24 02:33:00 | Satellite cable from Sky Dish has a splitter in it (done today by a Sky Tech) with one running off to MySky which is working fine, the other running to My PC. PC is running a Hauppage WinTV-PVR-350 and also a WinTV-HVR4000. I have not set up analogue with the WinTV-HVR4000, but the Sky goes into it. I tried running both MediaPortal 2.2 RC3 and also the software that came with it CyberLink PowerCinema 5. Both find the card and both find radio channels but neither find any TV channels:-( Power Cinema auto selects New Zealand and Optus D1(E160) MediaPortal has a couple of Optus ones but the closest is called SkyTV on Optus B1 (160E) which finds about a half dozen of Sky's channels but not TV1,2,3 etc. It finds Spice and Fresh which is nice but nothing shows:-( Anyone know the KU Band config settings? LNB0, Switch, LNB1 ? Or any other help? I thought maybe the splitter is faulty but it is new today so hopefully not. |

On a side note its interesting to see the number of MediaPortal post of late, Freeview seems to be fueling an uptake in HTPC's. Theres a very good thread on the MediaPortal website pertaining to settings and info for NZ users. |

| 604678 | 2007-10-24 04:20:00 | Thanks Pete will check it out. I just have client installed, getting the server bit now. I am surprised Power Cinema did not see the channels though. I will check all the connections tomorrow in case the installer did not tighten them properly. |

When i was helping a friend setup a HVR4000 we couldn't get the supplied Power Cinema software to tune Freeview either. I know hes got the card working with Freeview now and i'm pretty sure he only got it to work via the MediaPortal server. This (http://mcraenz.googlepages.com/) is pretty much the best NZ reference for MediaPortal and has been linked too many a time. |
