If so, you do need the addon, but then who here has a lot of HD-DVDs? Same with the PS3, why pay for a blue-ray player when hardly anyone has blue-ray discs (in nz) OK, I am an old fogey who has never played a game in his life. Probably never will either. However I have a Sony HC3 camcorder (Hi def) and wish to play my Hi def stuff without wearing out my camcorder. PS3 can import and play Hi def files in 1080p or 1080i. Seen this at the Wellington Sony shop. I lean towards Blu-ray as I like Sony and was present when the VHS versus Beta war was on. Sony lost that, much to the detriment of viewers for years. I don't know a hell of a lot about it but it is interesting that Harvey Norman in Australia refuse to stock any HD-DVD stuff. But then, one of the movie companies has dumped Blu-ray.. Funny world. Any opinions what would be best for me. Remember, never will play games!! Ken |

I could put photos & Music on it as well. I assume the USB ports would take a external drive for those? I would love this for Christmas!! Ken |

Vista is currently sitting on about 8%market share and Mac is on 6.5% with Leopard pre-orders moving very well, it is the top selling OS on Amazon.com Leopard officially ships at 6 pm on the 26th October. Keep it simple, keep it fun, keep it affordable. Go the Wii. Cool, so far in this console thread we have had the Ipod plug, The iPhone mention, and now for some freakin bizarre reason this piffle about the OS. Can't wait to see what's next, Though I bet its about ........hmmm.....Apple? |

Ken Certainly looks cheaper to me, I have no idea if the PS3 would use an external USB drive, I'm no expert on consoles as I don't really like them |
