604625 2007-10-24 19:49:00 You should see their phantom computers. They're so quiet and light, you'd think they don't even exist:lol:

But yes, I got an XP disc because I got mine custom built. Not quite sure about the pre-assembled, advertised models.

The reason I ask was that over in pressf1 there was a thread now locked, that had a picture of a PB tech restore disc. I was under the understanding that restore disc's are not a stand alone copy of the OS.

Normally restore cd's (usually more than ONE CD, unless its a DL DVD) would include the OS , and the drivers etc, so it'd save you from downloading them once you've restored a system.

But it'll only WORK if that was the system it was made for.

Otherwise, like Wardog found out, he couldnt get the sound to work, because that cd wasnt for his system, and it had nothing on it, for his computer.

604627 2007-10-24 23:31:00 Hi Guys

I have XP and want to create my own Recovery disk.

Can someone tell me how I do this ? I have looked all around XP and I can't find it.

604628 2007-10-24 23:37:00 You may have to get something like Trueimage.

Or whatever programs, that let you make images / backups / snapshots of your system.

604630 2007-10-25 02:25:00 A Polish immigrant went to apply for a driver's license .

First, of course, he had to take an eye sight test . The optician showed him a card with the letters:

'C Z W I X N O S T A C Z . '

"Can you read this?" the optician asked .

"Read it?" the Polish guy replied, "I know the guy . "

stupid HP and other crap companies just want more money because you can't transfer your old windows to a new PC

i'm glad my first PC was a 'real computer' that came with a real XP CD :D
