773562 2009-05-13 09:57:00 Has anyone had or seen (and fixed) issues with HP pavilion dv6000 running windows Vista not being able to use the built in webcam?

Windows can't even see the cam, even though I've followed HP's advice and updated the firmware for the camera.

773563 2009-05-13 10:34:00 been doing some reading - does the laptop have SP1 installed - many have found by installing that the problem is fixed.

Also have you gone through This process (h10025.www1.hp.com)

773565 2009-05-13 21:51:00 no the camera isn't showing under devices at all. KiwiTek (12922)
773566 2009-05-13 22:39:00 Click Start, click All Programs, click PC Help & Tools, and then click HP Application Recovery.
Select Driver installation and click Next.

Try that for installing the drivers.

773567 2009-05-13 22:51:00 yep, done that twice now, still nothing.

Have run all windows updates, as well as HP updates, installed the firmware update for the camera.

Nothing seems to works.

I've been reading up some on it as well, and seems this is quite a common problem with no apparent resolution.
