2009-05-12 06:10:00 | The XP cd is bootable. Change it to the bootdisk (the cd), save the settings in the BIOS, and boot from it. You can also format / partition it in its setup (before you install XP on it) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-05-12 06:13:00 | Not possible, the xp cd wont boot. i have to make the partition raw or ntfs for it to work :( | ZapperBoy10647 (11988) | |

2009-05-12 06:17:00 | It IS bootable. Did you press a key when it told you to?? Otherwise it'll boot into windows | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-05-12 06:21:00 | It wont work. NOTHING IN BIOS CHANGES IT, i need a partition manager so i can combine the current ones and make a clean ntfs or raw partition! | ZapperBoy10647 (11988) | |
2009-05-12 06:25:00 | One of two I use - 1 is Easeus (http://www.partition-tool.com/) - the free version you install on a PC, then make a bootable CD from the program. The second one I also use is the free paragon Disk Manager that comes in the magazines sometimes. ( trying to locate a download) Edited: OK download it from here (www.v3.co.uk) -Whe installing you need to register ( its free) and they send you the code - make the Bootable CD from that.

2009-05-12 06:28:00 | Well the cd is either NOT bootable (it should be if its legit - is it?), or the laptop doesnt know what a cd is. (Or cant boot from CD). So did you go to the menu when it says the boot select the cd save the settings then reboot (with the cd in), when it says press a key blah blah blah you pressed a key Does it have a restore partition?? If it does use it And if the hdd on it is corrupted (not whats on it) there's no point in trying to install anything on it, till you replace the hdd

2009-05-12 06:37:00 | Guess you'll have to wait till. If the hdd is SATA then a normal SATA cable will work | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
