| 773088 | 2009-05-11 07:37:00 | PC has been running sweet lately, last night did a good clean up with MBam, TRemover and CCleaner, then a full defrag using Smart Defrag. After this was all complete I set a system restore point and went to bed. This morning all worked good for a couple hours before a break for breakfast but when I came back to PC I found that double clicking on any desktop icons or using quick launch icons would only open the relevant "Properties" box. Then I noticed that "System Restore" had been turned off? Luckily I have an Acronis Image of this pc on an external and was able to be up and running again before too long but could be a problem for others if same happens to them. I hadn't been downloading anything or surfing anywhere much apart from visits here (PressF1) Anyone seen these sorts of problems before? |

| 773089 | 2009-05-11 07:41:00 | Interesting..Malware must've infected some integral system files, and removing it caused Windows to malfunction. I've had cases where the PC doesn't boot after a malware clean, so it does happen sometimes. Blam |

Wanted to get back online so I just went ahead with a restoration. This was not just a folder, it was Internet Explorer and everything on desktop apart from Start button. |
