i have got recently some emails saying invitation.

You have been invited to connect as friends with (name and email addy supplied) and on the bottom says something about bebo........... one name and addy i know the other i dont......... how are they getting this info and what is bebo? and why are they inviting me? so far ive ignored or deleted them, but they keep coming and say also i didnt reply to last email?

im lost as i dont give out my email very often......... and dont know what bebo is or how these people got the addy which is different to my msn addy?

im presuming its a chat thing they want........ msn or something....

606065 2007-10-28 22:49:00 bebo is a social network where you can keep in touch with your friends and family. It's rather popular with the teenage generation who send out invites to all and sundry.

Who knows where they got your email addy. I've received quite a few from people I know as well as strangers and have ignored the lot of them. :p

There was a poll and discussion about these networks not long ago here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz).

606066 2007-10-28 23:22:00 See the point Foxy is trying to make? Bebo, teenage generation, young, hip, socialisation, beetle!

Bebo is similar to Facebook.

Cheers :)

606067 2007-10-28 23:35:00 Ummm yeah... I unintentionally clobbered everyone on my msn list (including all three of you), didn't quite realise what I was choosing. Just ignore me. :groan: Erayd (23)
606068 2007-10-29 01:31:00 Ok, so now that you can blame Bletch, all you have to do is accept or reject their offer. If you ignore, it'll just keep popping back up occasionally.

Its our Facebook or Orkut really. Its OK if you're into those sort of sites to keep in touch but it gets boring rather quickly, especially Bebo.

606072 2007-10-29 06:35:00 Bebo, facebook etc ask users to 'connect' their friends by asking the users to give them (the social networking website) the users email address and password, they then retrieve EVERY email address saved in the users contacts and emails EVERY contact a 'friend invite'. pine-o-cleen (2955)
606073 2007-10-29 08:25:00 Yeah... call me foolish, but I thought I was telling it to search bebo for those addresses to see if anyone else had a profile - not send an email to every contact on my list! Erayd (23)
