605961 2007-10-28 00:06:00 I put stale petrol in my old lawnmower & I can't find any easy way to drain the petrol. Greven (91)

Or open the cap, roll over the lawnmower....

605964 2007-10-28 08:29:00 Or siphon it.

Cheers :)

605965 2007-10-28 08:49:00 I would have thought that siphoning petrol in this day and age would be frwned upon, especially by a chemist in training. Heap big powerful fumes, and the gush of fuel down the throat isn't that great either. Metla (12)
605966 2007-10-28 08:57:00 As Metz said, release the fuel line. Then get a clean rag, wrap it around the fuel filler hole, leave a partial gap, and blow really hard into it. Greg (193)
605967 2007-10-28 09:27:00 Or grab a piece of neoprene hose (not rubber or some plastics, melts!), put hose into tank (immerse most of the hose in the fuel if you can),put your thumb over the end of the hose (hold it there), and lower the (thumbed) end of the hose below the level of the tank, remove thumb. Fuel will now drain into any receptacle you desire! (Without sucking anything!) feersumendjinn (64)

605969 2007-10-28 09:50:00 The thumb? Dunno. Gimmie the punchline and see if I laugh. Metla (12)
605970 2007-10-28 19:38:00 We're talking about a motor mower petrol tank Feersumendjin. There's not a lot of space to work in via the filler cap! user (1404)
