605264 2007-10-25 08:35:00 I've been living in NZ for the past 16 years and I just feel that I haven't had much efficent service from shops around NZ for instance auckland, wellington, palmerston north, new plymouth,

Here are some examples

I wanted to buy a new sim card as my other mobile was stolen .So I went into the vodafone store and she gave me a new sim card. After that I requested that I want to add 2 best mates onto my talker plan.As vodafone system was down she wrote down my number and two of my bestmates number and told me she would do it from within an hour and give me a call back.I waited for 1.5 hours and she never called back. After ringing 777 the lady on the phone told me that noone has added the best mate for you.

I sold a pair of earphone at $600.Somehow strangely asb bank informed me that the person somehow deposited the money twice in my account and gave me a call that they'll be deducting money from my account.I already did a telegraphic bank transfer to my father before they took away the money so I told the guy to cancel the TT transfer for me.The guy says that he will try and contact the department to cancel the transfer and give me a call back later. He never did

Parallel imported had a nokia 6290 on their website that is out of stock.I called to see if they could get more stock and the guy told me that the mobile hasn't been in stock for a few months now.So i asked whats the point of listing the mobile online showing out of stock?

Bought a laptop at noel leeming. To add the extra 1GB ram we had to wait an extra week.We waited. After that the laptop had faulty ram so was returned who told us that it was the wrong type of ram or something. Then he said to wait a week before we can get the 512mb ram.OH MY GOD ANOTHER WEEEK?

I remember when I was in Hk on holiday.Ram was fitted in my new computer within half an hour. Why wait a week??Why does it take so long?

Etown had Nokia 6290 and didn't state out of stock.I quickily made the purchase. After 2 days I gave them a call to ask them if they had sent the mobile yet as I payed $499 by internet banking. There was no email or some type of confirmation that they received money. If i hadn't run up who knows what will happen. The guy told me that they ran out of stock but will be getting some more by the end of the week ( which was last week).I rung again at the end of the week and the girl answer the phone this time who told me they haven't gotten to new stock yet not until end of this week or early next week and they cant confirm to me if they are getting in a nokia 6290

I changed from an apartment in april to a hostel.Studylink sent me a letter telling me that my allowance has change .I received this letter in October.

So you call a taxi. They drop you off and you request them to pick you up at a certain time.He never comes back.

My father sent me a creative vision m 30gb for repairing from hk.It arrived in NZ on the 23rd of october then went missing. So i called NZ post whats up?The lady was a bit annoyed by the fact I even asked about it.She just said that they haven't received it.The person who i'm suppose to forward the mp3 player to called NZ post. They told them it never arrived in NZ.So i called NZ post .The guy then put me thru to Courier Post who put me thru to international post who then put me thru again NZ post .They then told me that it is missing and I would need to sign a form.I informed them of my address .That was 3 days ago.No letter yet.It interests me that an Insure traceable item will get lost..?

I know for a fact that usa ,hk, and other places around the world customer service is really fast.

There are plenty of more examples

Like each person in studylink tells a different story .There isn't a rule where they stick to.One person says it won't affect your allowance. One person says it will. The other says something else.

It drives me mad and I feel really upset.

Am I the only 1 that feels in general NZ customer service is really slow and kind of slack?

It's like they do half a job.

605265 2007-10-25 08:47:00 Oh yeah, She sucks, No doubt about it.

I go spare at people all the time, I just avoid crap now.Especially shops and salespeople, I expect them to be morons and provide no service or knowledge. Saves plenty of time.

I went into a courier post the other day to send an urgent parcel to Aussie, was informed I would need to open an account with DHL, provide my credit card details, and fill out all sorts of crap arse paper work, I was then handed a telephone, No idea why, Women on the other end asked me what I wanted,...I told her I had no idea, at which time she got shirty and put me on hold.

Some Im standing there getting mad as hell, wondering what the hell Im suposed to be conveying to god knows who on the phone, so I hang up, screw up the paper work, take back my package, tell the staff they're f*****kin useless and split.

Aussie is 2 hours away ***, I should be able to drop off my package, Pay my 20 bucks and leave.

605269 2007-10-25 09:18:00 I have no doubt that 'NZ' customer service is not unique to NZ.

What does get on my nerves here is being pounced upon by over-eager shop assistants about 2 seconds after setting foot in the shop. "Can I help you??". Sometimes I just want to walk around without being harassed, regardless of how genuinely friendly they might be. Maybe that sounds miserable but when you're just killing time looking around casually, it can get unnerving when you have to tell the umpteenth person "no - I just want to browse, thanks". Sometimes, after thanking one assistant, I will then get harassed a minute later by another assistant in the same store. :)
And of course. The one time you are desperately seeking someone to help you out with something, they have all gone AWOL!

605270 2007-10-25 09:29:00 Hows this, On a Sunday night I order a bunch of RC parts from a store in Honk Kong, and at the same time I order 1 part from an RC store in Auckland.

On Thursaday the parts arrive from Hong Kong. Sweet as.

That night in my Inbox I find a very curt email from the Auckland store saying my order was to be cancelled due to non-payment.

I reply back that their shopping system gave no option to make payment, and that this was obviously required for me to deposit the money, I advised that I could make payment by cc or direct debt. I also told them if they failed to contact me in 24 hours they could cancel the order as their service was quite frankly poor.

I get another curt email, stating it was my fault for failing to be at home during work hours to take their phone call, which is how they intended to get my CC details.

Blew my freakin mind, If I wanted to buy over the phone I would have rung them, Instead they set up a site with no actual ability to make a purchase, then get shirty that you don't take time off work to sit by the phone to receive a phone call you had no reason to believe was going to be made.

I rang them, when someone answered I had to hang up, I only had abuse for them. Bad abuse.

Still, I gave up on them, It was the third or fourth time I had tried to make them take my money. They obviously would rather see it go to HK.

605273 2007-10-25 11:48:00 Hi Ninjabear. I have not had bad experience dealing with Studylink since the beginning of this year when I began to receive my student allowance

If I am put on hold, most of the time I do not have to wait for long before I get to speak to someone. If they want information from me, they would dispatch off relevant mails to me promptly.

The only thing I am unhappy with is their voice-directed telephone service when you ring them. For instance, this evening I was redirected to the LOAN section when I spoke into the mouthpiece STUDENT ALLOWANCE; I guess the "LOW" part was misinterpreted. Other times, they either cannot recognise what I was trying to say or just decide to direct me to someone after several attempts of getting me to say the right department. :p

Cheers :)
