| 606509 | 2007-10-30 21:28:00 | Doubt the revised GTS will overtake the GTX everything I've heard suggest its will only get an upgrade to 112 shaders, still less than the GTX. It wouldn't make sense for the GTS to all of a sudden become faster than a GTX. Is this you?.....the GTS is to replace the GTX Pete, the new model due early next year will be the new GTX. If the new GTS was release with the specs in the first link I doubt it would beat the GT. ???, so do you still think G92 112sp, more memory and wider bus is, wont beat the GT..... and I'm the idiot, nice personal attack! |

You seem to be forgetting that the GT also has 112 shaders and the GTS in the link you provided has a lower core clock, no point having a wider memory interface if you cant fill it. The GTS will NEVER replace the GTX |

So now your claiming a card with exact same specs as the GTX but with 16 less shaders will out perform the GTX? Theres no replacement for pure computational power. |

| 606512 | 2007-10-30 22:19:00 | Yes Pete, the GTS core on this unit is not as fast as the GT, however faster than the G80 GTS 500mhz core. Mostly the 640 beats the GT in AA in higher res, where the new version will stretch the lead again. This one is 575mhz, same as G80 GTX, so with the extra SP's, tweaked 65nm core, it should easliy beat the GTX, and as Battlenetter said, leave the door open for the new GTX next year! Not the same core Pete...G92 is tweaked.... |

| 606513 | 2007-10-30 22:57:00 | Well Pete, I too am confused now, further investigation and the details are getting cloudier... The new GTS could just be the GTX core with some sp disabled and the 320bus!? Appears even e-retailers may have it wrong......I wish NV had just named the cards properly like a 8900GT & GTS or something! |

| 606514 | 2007-10-30 23:59:00 | Well guys, thats nice. For my customers who may want a new card soon. As for me I think my 8800GTX will do. Until the next round..........9800GTX or ATIwhatever. As we know, it changes all the time. The hardware we buy today is old news at the factory. |

| 606515 | 2007-10-31 05:40:00 | Realistically, how much do you think a second hand X2900XT is worth? I'm thinking it should be worth around $350, considering 8800GT's $450 price. I think I can only sell my 7900GTX for only $250...:( |
