| 605639 | 2007-10-27 05:58:00 | If I was you mate I'd cut my losses and pay a professional to look at it. I'm all for people fixing their own problems but everything you do seems to turn to custard. A decent PC tech could diagnose the problem in a couple hours and easily replace any faulty parts. Chances are you killed the new memory stick and I wouldn't be surprise if the motherboard and the other memory stick are now dead. i concur.... and as a rule of thumb, NEVER poke around while the computer (or any electrical device for that matter) is plugged into the wall. there's a good chance of frying the components (which i think you have done) and there's a good chance of frying your fingers while you're at it. then of course there's static electricity to deal with (ie, don't work on carpet and ground yourself if possible) |
