605788 2007-10-28 08:05:00 There is nothing strange about Maori stone walls, they were built as garden walls to retain soil , as is done in many parts of the world.

There are stone walls in Palliser Bay, as trampers in the Wellington region will probably know and have visited at some time, Stonewall Basin in the Haurangis'

605789 2007-10-28 17:19:00 Is this a hoax?

I was told about this years ago by a mate that doesn’t get too excited about things of this nature.

At the time I shrugged my shoulders and thought I’d hear more about it if there was something of significance.

I’ve heard nothing, but I’m curious did the Government actually suppress information on the find for 60 years, or do I chuck it in the same bin as Global Warming? :D

I wonder why the renewed interest of something so unlikely.

I was just doing some “housekeeping” and tidying up an excess number of bookmarks when I noticed this link.

My real interest is if the Government ever placed any classification on the area.

After all, to say the Government placed a 60yr embargo on information about the site is a very big call.

If, in the unlikely event that they did, then why?

605792 2007-10-29 10:48:00 It is indeed an "unlikely event."

The claim comes from the guy who wrote the book.
Some journalist would've asked that question when it was published.
If there was any truth in it, all of the media would've had a field day. After all, a "government conspiracy" like that would've been too good a story to miss...

So does anyone remember it?

No, it was rubbish & sank like the stones.

Turn your attention to castigating the government and be at peace.

Well I don’t think the Government had anything to do with it?

Do you know otherwise?

Well now that I think I’ve established that it is all rubbish, I will carefully place it in the same bin as Global Warming. :D
