There are stone walls in Palliser Bay, as trampers in the Wellington region will probably know and have visited at some time, Stonewall Basin in the Haurangis' www.gw.govt.nz |

At the time I shrugged my shoulders and thought Id hear more about it if there was something of significance. Ive heard nothing, but Im curious did the Government actually suppress information on the find for 60 years, or do I chuck it in the same bin as Global Warming? :D www.celticnz.co.nz I wonder why the renewed interest of something so unlikely. |

My real interest is if the Government ever placed any classification on the area. After all, to say the Government placed a 60yr embargo on information about the site is a very big call. If, in the unlikely event that they did, then why? |

| 605792 | 2007-10-29 10:48:00 | It is indeed an "unlikely event." The claim comes from the guy who wrote the book. Some journalist would've asked that question when it was published. If there was any truth in it, all of the media would've had a field day. After all, a "government conspiracy" like that would've been too good a story to miss... So does anyone remember it? No, it was rubbish & sank like the stones. |
