773204 2009-05-11 22:04:00 My first problem was my puter started acting really sluggish and freezing for a about 5 seconds before opening almost every window. I ran Panda and Spy-Bot, nothing. CCleaner got rid of a lot of junk but its still running slow.
I tried running HJT so I could post a log and got a Runtime error 50003. I uninstalled it and downloaded it the exe file to desktop. When I opened it, it told me where it'd download the program to but when I clicked install nothing happened. I tried going to the folder its in and when I tried to open the exe. in there I got the 50003 error again. It seems my puter wants nothig to do with HJT, but I've used it alot before. Anyone have any ideas?

773206 2009-05-11 22:20:00 Looks like that error may mean there's a file conflict (www.malwarebytes.org) 2 programs are trying to use 2 different versions of the same file Speedy Gonzales (78)
773207 2009-05-12 00:09:00 Sorry about that, I'm running Winme [I know, I know] and IE6 SP1, IE7 won't work in ME. I tried to download an update for IE from Windows website and it said I have to install IE6 before I can download the update, I DO have IE 6.
I thought maybe CCleaner got rid of something HJT needed so I put it all back, still nothing. Uninstalled HJT and reinstalled again and got the 50003 error again. If it is a conflict as was suggested, how to I correct it? Thanx guys

773208 2009-05-12 00:58:00 It gets worse. I ran Trojan Remover and the Glary utility scan. Glary found all the issues I restored from CCleaner. I deleted all references to HJT and tried to shut down. A window popped up with an HJT logo that said "CAN'T QUIT". I don't even know where to go from here. stephan08611 (10225)
773209 2009-05-12 02:18:00 Did you read the link I posted?? Did you try that? Speedy Gonzales (78)
773210 2009-05-12 03:49:00 Speedy, your post is where I got Trojan Remover and the Glary Utility from. I downloaded HJT from it, too, but got the same results '50003'. As far as the duplicate files, I didn't find any using the informant in that link. I downloaded what I was told I needed as far as VB files go. Everythings still the same. stephan08611 (10225)
773211 2009-05-12 04:08:00 Not my sig, the link I posted in post 3. The file conflict is a link (thats why its underlined) Speedy Gonzales (78)
773212 2009-05-12 04:25:00 Speedy, yes I did follow the link. Thats where I got the info on duplicate files and VB files and did them both to no avail. stephan08611 (10225)
773213 2009-05-12 09:47:00 Did you install something just before it started going slow?

Or was it just gradually getting slower?

Have you defragged lately?
