The same with battery cars, you have to make big horrible batteries (chemicals etc), then generate the electricity ! then throw away the batteries, that is three anti environment things ! it's called recycling, and if there's several kg of lithium per car pack i think there'll be a strong incentive to do so. but there is the issue of environmental damage in generating the power. while coal generated electricty powered cars is less pollutive than petrol cars, it's still less than ideal, and hydro/wind have an obvious local environmental impact.... fuel cells may be a way forward, but they are really only a glorified battery |
