605831 2007-10-27 09:05:00 Well, the Crysis single player demo is (finally) up. It's on Ausgamers (http://www.ausgamers.com/) and Gamershell and the other usual suspects too, I'm sure. Deane F (8204)
605832 2007-10-27 09:09:00 About 1.9 GB.

Looks like Gamershell (www.gamershell.com) has compressed it to 1.77 GB though.

605833 2007-10-28 03:38:00 Stuff it. Tried twice, both times it crapped out part way through.

I already have it on order for 15th so can't be bothered again now.

605834 2007-10-29 07:54:00 Grab it from iconzarena.co.nz

it'll come down quick as, the game is visually brilliant and well worth trying again. Finally the reason you all need to upgrade to Vista

605835 2007-10-29 10:48:00 This one is going to be REALLY GOOD. I can just play it on my 3200 amd64, 1gig, 6800gt on low settings, but anything less and you shouldn't bother. It's like Far Cry on steroids. I especially love shooting and blowing up the trees :D LiquidSolidity (1589)

On the Crysis demo, FRAPS tells me I'm getting 45 fps or so with everything set to high. That's with an 8800GTX, Core 2 Duo E6750, 2 GB DDR2 800.

On Bioshock with everything set to high I'm getting 120-130 fps. So that means Crysis is going to bring a lot of systems to their knees. Hopefully they'll tighten up the engine a bit before release - but it's probably too late for that.

605837 2007-10-29 19:09:00 Crysis has gone gold (www.incrysis.com)!

There is all this talk about Crysis running slow, but people seem to be forgetting that Far Cry also brought top end systems to their knees.

That said, Crysis on it's highest settings looks freaking amazing!

605838 2007-10-29 19:42:00 There's a fair chance the Crysis demo will be on the PC World DVD in December ;) Jan Birkeland (4741)
605839 2007-10-29 19:44:00 Finally the reason you all need to upgrade to Vista

Seeing as it has support for DX9 - I don't think so.

605840 2007-10-29 20:00:00 depending, if you want to play the multiplayer version you might want to go DX10.
Seems like there will be two kinds of servers running, one dx9 and one dx10. The dx10 servers will have destructible environments, while the dx9 will not. This could give an advantrage to dx10 players, hence the separation of servers. dx10 players can of course play on the dx9 servers, but not vice verca.
