774413 2009-05-16 09:39:00 I keep forgetting what the process is for this to work.

Basically I have 1 physical hard drive I want to split into 2 partitions both using NTFS.
1st being for the OS and OS critical data + apps.
2nd straight data.

I 've done this before where I could resize both partions by taking away space from 1 drive and reallocating to the other. eg, OS needs more as I have underestimated requirements, therefore data drive loses allocation.

BUT - other times I've formatted for two drives and for some reason I can't increase/decrease sizes. I know it's got something to do with primary/extended/logical order etc...

774414 2009-05-16 11:57:00 If you have a partition on an extended partition(the data drive), you cannot move that to a logical partition.

And you can only add free space to a partition to the right of it.

Or you can use gparted to move things around
