774264 2009-05-16 00:18:00 Having passed the above camera on to a new owner I have the problem that the cumbersome EasyShare interface is not what the new owner wants, they are used to a camera appearing as a drag and drop interface.

Does anyone know how this can be done with an EasyShare camera? Does the option exist with the accompanying software or can another program be loaded which will do the job?

774265 2009-05-16 01:29:00 Does the camera not show up in my computer when it's connected if it does you should be able to open it and do drag and drop. I have never installed the Fuji software that came with my camera gary67 (56)

774267 2009-05-16 05:21:00 We have an Easyshare camera here. When its USB cable is plugged in to the computer, with the camera on, a window automatically appears asking if you want to d/l pictures into the computer. Using XP.

No specific camera software has been installed prior to this.

774270 2009-05-16 07:03:00 Depends on if the Person wants to use all the easy share features.

Several of My customers Hate Easyshare - they find it no so easy.

Most usually end up using Picasa (http://picasa.google.com/) - you can import from any Camera I have tried - works well.

It now allows you to upload to sharing sites such as picasa Web albums (www.google.com login%3Fcontinue%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fpicasaweb.go ogle.com%252Fhome&service=lh2&ltmpl=gp&passive=true) -- Never tried it so cant say if it works good or not.

774271 2009-05-16 08:04:00 Ok thanks guys, as you say if the EasyShare software is not installed it does act like a normal drag and drop camera which surprises me because when I originally tried it on my computer when I first got the camera I could not get the camera to be recognized as connected to the usb port but on the laptop it will be used with it does work, great stuff.

Anyway problem over.

774273 2009-05-16 23:21:00 D&D with my EasyShare C653 was instantly available the first time I plugged the USB cord into the puter.

I dumped that USB access and went to Picasa3 using the SD card reader and never looked back.

I sometimes use the EasyShare port to make some fast pixs from the camera though through the Kodak G600 printer. Whatever they do, tell them to NOT lose that little clear plastic adapter plate. It fits the Kodak printer and I don't think you can buy another one.

If you have to download a video via the Kodak USB cord that's longer than the default shut-down time in the camera, you'll go nuts when it shuts off in the middle of the dump.

Just read the SD card and there's no time limit that way. I learned this the hard way. Who would have thunk that Kodak would set the camera to shut down when it's working? :waughh:
