607823 2007-11-03 21:01:00 Aaaah... the cane. What a shame they can't still use it. Could nip a lot of todays problems in the bud.

Ken

I was 14. A Barnardo boy. Fighting at school. Six of the walking stick cane before I left school. Got to the Home. Got six more that evening. Bleeding down my legs. Took stick & broke it over my thigh. Said, 'If you ever do that to me again I will hurt you back.' I never got caned again. Spent two days in the sick bay.
Having said all that, it never did me any harm thro my life. Taught me to have respect for other people. Those that deserved respect anyway. Not everyone does. PJ :)

607824 2007-11-03 21:29:00 To be honest, I think if I was never able to have another beer it wouldn't bother me.I sense the beginning of a long, slippery slope :dogeye: Greg (193)
607825 2007-11-03 21:29:00 That can get weird tho, so your parked on the side of road and some twerp Tbones your stationary vehicle, then wait, it's your fault for being there if (see above)

Hmmmm . . . you've got an interesting point that may not be quickly resolvable .

Let me try . . . .

IF the key is in the ignition, then our laws state that you are legally driving or in command of the vehicle . . . so that might be a consideration .

Kids get busted for sitting in a car that's not theirs with the key in the ignition and the radio playing . . and that's illegal for whatever reason . . . it's a COMMAND OF VEHICLE situation .

If they have the parent's permission to listen to the radio or not . . . if the kid doesn't have a valid license, he's busted if there's a key in the ignition!

Now . . . just sitting in a parked vehicle without the keys in the ignition makes it a little different I'd say .

Sounds like time to cut the baby in half here .

607827 2007-11-03 21:41:00 You have the right to bear arms, but not cigarettes?
Is that because cigarette death is a lingering affair, but being shot is sort of okay?

It is about as logical as our bylaws that compell you to pass a test before having a dog, but having brats is in bulk is suitable for unskilled labour . (In fact it's sponsored by the state . )

Cigarettes in public are eschewed most every place now .

There are appointed smoking places like patios and such, marked off with red lines and signage outside of public buildings, but they will be done away with soon after the new laws come into effect .

Seems to me that the OFFICIAL SMOKING SITES are getting to be further away from the main buildings to . . . sortta like a 100 yard hike to get to a place where smoking is out of the way .

Good of the current laws to make people who smoke get a little exercise now too .

The gist of the law is like this: If your exhaled smoke offends anyone, then you are liable .

But . . . and here's an interesting point . . . the smoke is just a marker, if you will, of the breath that a person exhales and then floats into your face .

So . . . you are inhaling air that was just very recently in the lungs of someone else . . . the proof?

The smoke you smell was just in their lungs too .

Now . . don't get into thinking about air that circulates around the nether areas of other people and animals . . . under the clothing if you will . We inhale that air too!

607828 2007-11-03 21:46:00 Hasn't America banned farting in public places yet?

607829 2007-11-03 23:43:00 Yes, the ducks are witches too. I'll bet when we're not looking they'll be off under the bridges smoking their evil tobacco products, the dirty dirty ducks! I've seen it in a vision you know, so it must be true ;)
Right then, avoid duck'n witches. And visions. And Apples.

By Order.

607830 2007-11-04 00:24:00 Smoking must have a hold on these fools, you see them outside offices in bad weather sucking down poisionous chemicals.
Could some tell me how a cigarette lasts before you need another one?
Got to laugh, saw a lady on tv smoking and complaining about the main grid power lines over her house. Was worried about em effect but not all worried about rooting her body with smoke.

I'm also seeing from your other posts you also appear to not to have any idea of that which you speak.
I see elsewhere on the forum there is a 'rules that are generally true' thread; heres one for you

It is better to shut ones mouth and appear the fool, than to open it and remove all doubt:)
