774080 2009-05-15 05:47:00 I have jobs that I can't delete from the printing queue.
In task manager is there a service I can kill/restart that will clear out the 'spool' or whatever the hell won't let go of the printing files?

Pic below....

Or you could stop and restart the print spool service, although I don't think that clears the print queue.

Type services.msc into the run box and look for the print spooler.

774084 2009-05-15 09:08:00 This is all overkill...

All you need to do is paste this into notepad:

@echo off
net stop spooler
del /F %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.*
net start spooler

Then save as any name with .bat at the end.

Make sure its set to "ALL FILES" then add .bat at the end.

All the batch script does is stop print spooling service, then delete the stuck items in SYSTEMROOT%\system32\spool\PRINTERS and re-start the service.

I've also given my batch script a printer icon to make it look cool:p

Nah, it happens often everywhere-and not just to me.

And its quite a common problem.

I just stick it on a flash drive and share it with other less tech savvy users.
