773819 2009-05-14 11:16:00 Personally I have had a lot fewer problems with drivers / nvidia software.

Good Example - Your own Thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) :D

773821 2009-05-14 11:31:00 Currently I reckon the 4800's series are great bang for buck Blam (54)
773822 2009-05-14 11:58:00 I use to have a 3DFX Voodoo graphics card until they went belly up, then went to a Nvidia TNT card and have had Nvidia based cards ever since. Alot of driver problems with ATI cards.
:)

773823 2009-05-14 12:10:00 ATI occasionally have a better deal, but in the end Nvidia always seem to pull it out of the bag performance wise. They certainly have better driver support, and much nicer software. I've only ever owned one ATI card, never again. wratterus (105)
773824 2009-05-14 12:29:00 nVidia put out some **** drivers not so long ago for a couple of releases that with hardware problems such as overheating etc pushed ATI ahead at the time.

They came back as they always do, fixed the drivers, fixed the hardware and ramped up the performance with the new series even more, nVidia will never be truly beaten and I am kicking myself for buying a crossfire motherboard, oh well I don't plan on two cards anyway.

773825 2009-05-14 13:47:00 Nvidia here.

Main reason - Linux support. Had problems with ATI when I first started. With Nvidia - no issues ever.

773826 2009-05-14 21:44:00 Whichever gives me the best performance at the time.

Both have had driver issues.

773827 2009-05-14 21:55:00 Never had a prob with ATI cards or drivers. Nvidia drivers always crashed on the other PC here. So, now all 3 PC's use ATI cards. I dont really care what I get. If it works, and I see something on the screen (and if the drivers dont crash the system, I'll use it.

Not really interested whether its good enough for games or not. I have no games. If I want to play a game, I'll use the Xbox
