| 774894 | 2009-05-18 10:16:00 | Also be 100% sure it's installing on the correct hard drive, you don't want to accidentally wipe your XP installation. It seems to happen way too often judging by the number of posts on the Ubuntu forums where people have done this. If you're not afraid to play around with partitions, I'd suggest creating the partitions you need first using gParted (the partition editor) on the live CD and then select the manual partitioning option when installing. That way you can also create a separate /home partition which means you can easily reinstall and keep all your data and settings if you have to. |
