774727 2009-05-17 21:16:00 I have dual monitors. Both Viewsonic . A 9xx and a 2235.The 19" is about 4 years old and has always worked perfectly.
The 22" has never been as bright and crisp as I would like. It's been sent back for repair once already and now about four months later it's stuffed again
The display is now just about too dark to see. Last time they replaced a bulb and this time probably the same.
An example. I am writing this on the 19". Black type on a crisp whiot background. If I drag it to the 22" I have mid grey print on a dark grey background.
My question. What is the best Gameing monitor these days? a 22" 0r 24". I'm getting a new one and I want one that not only looks good, but will also last more than five minutes

I have a 9800 GX2 video card with latest drivers and am running 64 bit Windows7LC. and a 2200 GPU. And useing DX 10.

774728 2009-05-17 21:18:00 Well dont expect a lot from an RC version of windows. Speedy Gonzales (78)
774729 2009-05-17 21:24:00 Its what panel it uses:

TN Panel Tech Cons:
1. Poor color accuracy; only 262k real colors; 16 million using dithering
2. Blacks aren't as black as other panel techs
3. Poor viewing angles

There's been a thread on the different panels already.

774731 2009-05-17 22:04:00 My Viewsonic works alright. See my specs below. Yes could be your RC of WIndows7 causing the problem.
BTW have you bought any of these for FSX. www.simw.com
:)

No. I don't have room on my desk for them. Did get the Saitec yoke, but gave it away because lask of room

774734 2009-05-17 22:53:00 Go for Samsung or LG if you can fit it into your budget. I know the (generally) lower prices on viewsonic, AOC, benQ etc are very attractive but personally I am a fan of the quality of Samsung & LG. 24" isn't necessarily the best for you, you may want to find something thats a bit smaller but with full 1080p HD?? LG & quality don't go together
Samsung are good though.

774736 2009-05-17 22:59:00 Pretty much any TN monitor is good for gaming (which needs fast response times* and low image processing latency). But when 'best' means 16.7m colours and CRT levels of contrast and viewing angles, you need to be a bit more selective. For graphics/imaging and colour accuracy, my pick is the HP LP2475. It uses an LG H-IPS panel.

*But a high quality 6ms panel (eg H-IPS) will have *LESS* visible ghosting than a cheap 2ms TN panel.
