| 774676 | 2009-05-17 13:43:00 | Hey there, I recently purchased a DV5-1209ax Laptop and its working great atm, and is definitely a good purchase for university next year but i seem to be having problems with the Quick Launch Buttons. I've installed the most updated drive for it but now the buttons don't even seem to work. It is really getting under my skin as I've spent quite a few hours googling for a result to end up finding none as of yet. The problem; when i place my finger over the volume button the volume goes up but then the rotary wheel underneath seems to go crazy and goes up/down making a rather annoying clicking noise for awhile after I've taken my finger off of the volume control. Maybe i should update my BIOS? i'm not too sure of to where to go; thus i have posted on pressf1 :D. O/S = Windows Vista Home-Premium (32-bit) Laptop = HP DV5-1209ax Regards, Jared. |

Not sure if it's because the touch buttons' hardware is way too sensitive & they still register the volume slider "button" as still being down once you've removed your finger. The last time it happened I stopped the volume "hunting" simply by pressing one of the other buttons (Stop, I think). Waiting to see if that works again if it misbehaves. It's only happened a handful of times in the time I've had the laptop (& I'm sure the drivers have updated a couple of times in that period), but I agree - it can be bloody annoying. It seems to be more susceptible when full-screen games are running - maybe the on-screen display program triggers it? |
