774672 2009-05-17 12:29:00 howdy folks. i have installed VB 6 on my virtually new laptop to find as soon as i go to access the menu's (whether a project is open or not) or on some occasions when opening a project, VB6 just locks up, it also does this whether it is set to compatibility mode for another OS, run as admin (which i am anyway) and the version of VB6 i have works fine on anything that is able to run 95 onwards except for some reason this machine :badpc:

another issue i have is with the touchpad and flash/firefox, whenever a flash object is set full screen (eg youtube or similar) the virtual scrolling stops working when you exit full screen and switch to another page/tab or scroll on the current page etc and you have to turn off the touchpad via the driver (the hardware button wont reset the disfunctional scrolling) and re-enable it via the hardware button or the software and the scrolling works again sometimes it comes right on its own but is unpredictable at least as far as i know you usually have to use the control panel/pointing device properties.

774673 2009-05-18 10:12:00 as soon as you open any menu on VB6, even the context and control menu VB6 just locks up otherwise it works fine, i just cant make exes, or use menu items with no shortcut keys
any hints? do i really have to use VB.net, dump vista or just use an older box/ virtual machine for VB6 stuff

774675 2009-06-02 15:12:00 its working nice now, i think updating the video drivers helped but it may have been just "disabling desktop composition" may have done it
i dont care its working properly now and isnt crashing when you access the menus
