774592 2009-05-17 05:08:00 I am into Genealogy and when using a few large genealogy databases, my computer moves slowly through them before finally freezing completely. I always end up doing a Ctrl Alt Del. I am using Vista with 2 Gb of memory with a fast processor; my husband has a laptop also with Vista and 2Gb of memory but has a different processor. I never have a problem when using the laptop. shirlnz (14916)

Or the PC may need defragging. Disable everything to do with indexing (ie: Vista's search I think, anything google programs use).

What model is the laptop?

Open reliabability monitor(RUn>perfmon /rel) and see if it tells you why it may be crashing

774595 2009-05-17 06:28:00 We did a Disk Cleanup first and our computer is programmed to defrag regularly.

My husband's laptop isn't the problem it is my PC that is the problem.

Here is the website I have a problem with perhaps if someone else has a look at it: www.cursiter.com It has a lot of data on the site.
