774534 2009-05-17 02:48:00 Hi,

For a while now I've been using a little free app called 360 Desktop which in effect trebles the amount of Desktop space you have and allows you to scroll sideways between open apps.

A couple of times it has stopped working. The first time this happened I spent ages trying to sort it out (it also seemed to stop Windows Explorer from working on odd occasions) and eventually came to the conclusion that it had something to do with their website being down, so I left it alone and it eventually came right. The same thing happened a couple of days ago - now that their website is back up things are OK.

Has anyone got any ideas as to why the website needs to be active in order for the app to work?

Thanks

If 360desktop is free, how do you make money?

We charge our Brand Partners to use 360desktop. Our Partners will pay us when you (and other users) download and use the branded 360 content they create. So, if you like the brand, or find the 360's they create interesting, entertaining or useful, please download them.

We also generate revenue from the web search facility in the QuickNav, by taking a share from the TipMe tips that user's give for the 360's created and shared by content creators, and also from subtle advertising that we will deliver in the 360desktop navigation utilities.

So its spyware in effect.

Buy a second monitor, hook it up and have the desktop stretched across the 2 of them.
Or 3.
