609780 2007-11-09 05:08:00 I've recently switched to Ubuntu (7.10 is an AMAZING improvement over 7.04), and I've been using uTorrent through wine.

What's the best native linux torrent program to use?

This is for downloading perfectly legal things, of course, so please try to resist having a piracy debate in here.

609782 2007-11-10 09:59:00 Stay away from Azureus, please! ;)

But yeah, KTorrent maybe... personally I'd stick with uTorrent via WINE, works for me ;)

I tried things like bittorrent, bittornado... never liked them.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :xmouth::DIf one should want to pirate software; contrary to popular belief, not all software for linux is free (Cedega and Nero being 2 examples) . Also, not all Linux distros are free .

However, (as I am currently in the process of) some linux users who torrent use torrents to get hold of the latest releases of a Linux distro (e . g . Fedora 8) :)

609786 2007-11-11 00:04:00 Thanks. I'm going to stick with uTorrent over wine. I've got it all figured out nicely.

I have no need to steal software - I just head for Synaptic and have everything I could ever need, free and legally :D

609787 2007-11-11 01:16:00 I've used KTorrent which I like. Azureus comes out well in reviews. dolby digital (5073)
609788 2007-11-11 03:58:00 I used to use ubuntu, but I like Kubuntu more, the Ktorrent program that comes with is probably fine, never used it.

uTorrent in windows always works, otherwise i'm sure there's something you can install from synaptic that allows you to torrent?
