609088 2007-11-07 03:26:00 I have a nokia cell phone, had about a year? and now it seems to die or turn itself off? not all the time. sometimes a couple of times a day then ok for a few days.
Is it a battery prob ? or something else maybe?
it was one of those $99.00 ones, and it goes great other than that......... sometimes i dont notice its turned off, for hours......... i keep it charged regularly and had no probs at any other times.

not sure what the model number is....... but i can find it, too see if it is a regular fault with these.

609089 2007-11-07 03:27:00 Could be the battery pack is starting to lose its charge or the seating of the battery may be a bit loose. rob_on_guitar (4196)
609090 2007-11-07 03:37:00 have you let the battery go completely flat, from what i remember if you keep recharging the battery without it ever going flat (or close to it), it stuffs up, just ocasionally it needs to go completely flat Morgenmuffel (187)
609091 2007-11-07 03:38:00 $99 ones? Could it be Nokia 1110i? My phone has been doing that for the past year, which happens more often when I try to send more than three messages in one go.

Cheers :)

609092 2007-11-07 03:44:00 pop it in the microwave for 10 minutes that is guaranteed to solve the problem

haven't you recently replaced some microwaves

609093 2007-11-07 03:53:00 I think it is a Nokia 2280, the ones Telecom were selling for $49-95 to get people off the 025 system.
I have the Nokia 2280 and mine dose the same. Sometimes it well stay charged for about a couple of weeks and sometimes 2 or 3 days. First time it happened I had it sitting on top of a big speaker. I think it might be caused by where you put it, say by electrical appliances or something that generates an electro magnetic field like a speaker etc.

609094 2007-11-07 05:14:00 ok its a model 1110i inside the battery bit says this............so i presume its correct.
cant find the box, had to take battery out instead.........box must be packed already.
will let it run down and go flat then......... and it sits on the american bar mostly. with nothing electrical near it. except maybe the other cell phones, and car keys.

while i take bat out, must clean it too i guess....how the heck stuff gets in there i have no idea.

609095 2007-11-07 05:32:00 Over a period of time an oxide can build up on the electrical contacts, it is nothing to do with anything getting into the battery compartment. You might of noticed it when you have changed batteries in torches.

609097 2007-11-07 06:38:00 It dosen't take much, so fine a film that you cannot see it. Instructions that come with cordless phones till you to wipe the contacts that are on the phone and the base unit every so often for the same reason.
