608849 2007-11-06 08:36:00 This is a new LTNZ website - out today.

http://www.rightcar.govt.nz

I put my car through the check & it surprised me - not really pleasantly. I must admit.

So I thought the rest of you might like to check yours out for safety/fuel economy & all those things you assume it does better than all the others -
and may well argue about until the cows come home ...

Warning - It may be depressing.

608850 2007-11-06 08:46:00 Hate to think...my head's still spinning with the fuel consumption of mine. allblack (6574)
608851 2007-11-06 09:03:00 Neither the bus nor the ferry is listed.
And if I look at my last car, (which I thought was frugal) - -
Rats.

608857 2007-11-06 20:23:00 Unless you have got a very late model car it won't be on that site.

This site contains vehicles that have been sold in New Zealand since 2005, when regulations started requiring importers to supply fuel economy information.

You should be able to find most new cars. Soon you will also be able to find ex-Japanese domestic vehicles built since 2000.
