610674 2007-11-13 04:03:00 Video capture off an SD card in Premier. What were you talking about?

Why would you want to do that? If you had 30 minutes of recorded video, it would take 30 minutes to capture. Transferring the AVI file would be as quick as the SD card would let you - maybe a minute or three.

Having difficulty following your reasoning... brings to mind the old saying about "Why do something simply, when with a bit more effort you can make it really difficult"

I saw that, 7 posts after I said the same. He is obviously trying to tell you the same as what I said.

You are a jerk. I had your posts blocked for a long time and only unblocked you to see what you had to say on this thread. My mistake.

Bye Bye winmacguy... I am blocking you again

Sorry Jen, it had to be said.

610678 2007-11-13 05:24:00 Firewire is only required for tape-based cams. DVD, flash or hard drive based cams all use USB. Biggles (121)
610679 2007-11-13 17:42:00 Swish, let me know if you struggle with the learning curve.

I'd suggest you get a more user friendly app as well, Just so you can learn about video editing, rather then just spending the time learning a complicated program.
I am impressed with your patience with both of these chaps.

610680 2008-01-26 07:12:00 OMGWTFBBQ adobe premier is munted

so today i took some more videos, this time on the dirtbike, and decided at having another go importing into premiere, yet again to get the message "unsupported compression" error for my avi files.

had nothing better to do, so i got a program to check the video to see what the story was and turns out i've got the required codecs and all is recording to the specs it said it should, and it plays fine in all the players i've tested

did some reading an apparently alot of cameras aren't too good at meeting the avi standards, but mpg is a bit looser about it

so i renamed the .avi file as an .mpg file and now it imports and works fine!

so now i can learn to use the software (at last)
