motorbyclist: You have a fondness for polls. Could you please put in a reasonable end date (poll timeout) to your polls rather than leaving it on the default 0 (infinite) setting - saves me having to go around adding this later. Ta. :)

610645 2007-11-12 04:28:00 I also base what I know on seeing the guys editing video footage in Premier when I was studying graphic design. Most of the guys and girls used a combination of Premier, Photoshop and After effects to put their presentations together.
I initially liked Elements because it was an affordable entry level package that would have allowed me the chance to have a play with video editing had I had the right setup. That gap has now been suitably filled by iMovie.

thanks, and yes i do like polls, they give a nice indication of overall opinion, in my opinion. maybe i should restart the "do we have too many polls" polls again:lol:

does the end date matter? i didn't realise it would...

Yes it does. Gives people less time to dis-agree with each other. ;)

610648 2007-11-12 05:03:00 does the end date matter? i didn't realise it would...Unfortunately it does with this forum software. If polls never close, all it takes is someone to vote on a still open poll from 2005 for example and this makes the entire thread reappear at the top of the thread list even though the last posted comment was from 2005. You would be surprised how many of these long finished poll threads get resurrected from the dead for this reason.

I try to check all new polls to make sure the creator has put in a sensible end date to stop this problem continuing, and I've had to do this to all of your polls so far. Hence the friendly reminder. :)

610649 2007-11-12 05:08:00 oh, well now i know the reason behind it, i will remember to do so.

no problem :)

Let us know how you get on. Just make sure you have a Firewire port and plenty of HD space and sufficient RAM which I figure you probably do already.

my mates happen to already have the adobe software lying around on varous harddrives, so i'll probably be up and running in a few days:D

610652 2007-11-12 06:39:00 You use firewire for transferrng video . Thats if you're going to do this .

You can use USB, BUT it'll most probably be slow and out of sync .

By the time you finish xferring the video .
