609602 2007-11-08 23:08:00 To me, the way I understood on the news is the police cant do anything because the legislation is not workable.

So does this mean even if they were guilty they just got off scot free?

609603 2007-11-08 23:29:00 Terrorism charges were never laid, but the act was used to collect evidence, which they say showed that the scumbags were planning something. wotz (335)

609605 2007-11-08 23:53:00 What else would you call letting off bombs/miltary arms?

Do we have to wait til someone gets hurt?

Napalm is pretty heavy stuff, IF that one was true then the police had it right then got burnt by their own laws .

The short answer is yes . This as far as being "Terrorists" are concerned . This because the legislation (Law) would appear to be flawed . To my mind the Police used the powers contained in the in the Bill to eavesdrop via "bugs"

What are the Police allowed to do regarding warrants, search, seize and etc?

Now if I obtain evidence using one law and then find evidence of a different offence can I use this evidence in court .

Say I am a police officer and I am looking for evidence as I had a tip that you were making a bomb in order to blow up the beehive and all within it . So I turn up with a search warrant under a certain Act or regulation or amendment .

In searching your property I notice a P lab but NO bombs or any intention to make a bomb . Therefore I entered your house in not quite a legal manner .

May I use the evidence to bust you for the P lab?

They may all get off all charges or some evidence collected via bugs may not be admissible .

I still blame the lawmakers rather than the police .

609610 2007-11-09 05:02:00 If Broad is a good Christian (bio says) and an honourable man he will resign.
If he is a bad Christian and an unhonourable man he wont resign.
He should of checked legislation properly before charging the Tuhoe people and their friends. Cant blame the law as written afterwards.
If disturbing is running around the hills with guns then someone the Solictor General should get a life. I wouldnt mind doing it myself bit of fun in my otherwise dreary poultry life.
Just shows incompentence with a bit of Maori bashing thrown in.

Take these people in then at your place. Bail conditions forbid Ruatoki visits BTW. This I am told. I still wait for the evidence.
