| 775200 | 2009-05-20 00:06:00 | Hi Guys. Wanted to print out this morning after startup and got a message saying print spooler not running and suggesting a restart. restarted machine- no go. Tried to add a printer (none were showing) but got message saying could not add printer as print spooler not running. Tried to manual start spooler but message came back "Error 1068 The Dependency service or group failed to start" Did a System Restore to yesterdays windows update. Still no joy. Any suggestions welcome Cheers Colin |

Checked Dependencies Under components in the top box are HTTP, and Remote procedure Call. In the bottom box it says no dependencies. How do I make sure the other services are running and what they are? BTW running Vista home premium. |

| 775203 | 2009-05-20 00:57:00 | Stop press. Fixed problem. Without going into heaps of details I started thinking and realised I had stopped a component from a previous Lexmark printer from starting(in MS config). This had somehow tied itself into the vitals of the system. Anyway restarted it and all good now. Thanks Speedy. Cheers Colin |
