612091 2007-11-16 21:04:00 Hi Guys

I buy most of my stationery etc from Warehouse Stationery.

I find their range and prices and parking to be very good. (but they do have a lot of out of stocks)

But one item I buy regularly their prices are much dearer than say Office Depot. AND they have the cheap to fill up a whole display area with them at a "full challenging price" hoping to suck people into buying them thinking they are on special as they are in a mass display like a supermarket gondola end !

I would like to publisice this so that other people don't get ripped off.

Is this a good idea ?

Is this a good place to do it ?

Or are there other NZ consumer sites ?

the so called bargain bin is an old trick.
Remember it pays to double check prices.

Speak to a manager, not a front counter person.

612095 2007-11-16 21:58:00 This is a very common practice which everyone does - even supermarket "specials" are often questionable. somebody (208)

I find the warehouse (which I assume is owned by the same company) is often more expensive than other shops on a whole range of products. The average warehouse shopper probably thinks that the warehouse must be the cheapest, and their motto is 'where everyone get a bargain'. For example they charge a $1 more than Pacnsave on a $3 battery on the battery centre.

612098 2007-11-17 01:01:00 Don't buy it from them, if you can get it cheaper somewhere else

Because you can have a good laugh at them that their misleading advertising didn't work on you

Like the 2 dollar shop, that place is an unbelievably massive ripoff for most (if not all) items

612100 2007-11-17 01:50:00 OK Guys

I'm talking about A4 plastic pockets the sort that go in ring binders. They come in boxes of 100.

Warehouse Stationery charge $7.60 something and Office Products Depot Less than $5.00.

And not only that but the Office Products one is Esseltee Brand which is a world recognised brand. The Warehouse brand is a no name one.
