611825 2007-11-15 21:35:00 Anybody notice that the latest jargon saying is " IN TERMS OF " ?
Particularly the morning announcer/Interviewer on Radio NZ uses this expression in nearly every second sentence. Everything seems to be considered " IN TERMS OF". Drives me nuts now every time I hear it.

611826 2007-11-15 22:10:00 I agree, hate it. I have also noted that nobody is ever 'shot' in NZ these days, they are always 'gunned down'! Why use two words when one will do. Richard (739)

I guess using 'gunned down' makes the story sound more interesting.

"Gunned down in a gang related drive by shooting" is what they really want to say. It seems every time there's a crime the media want to link it to "gangs" of some type. If an argument broke out in rest home and one old codger shot another over a dispute about medication, the media would label it both drugs and gang related ....
