2007-11-12 20:13:00 Anyone having problems with PressF1 being desperately slow to load at present, or is it just me? Richard (739)
2007-11-12 20:21:00 No probs here (using Telstra Clear/Paradise/adsl/Firefox with AdBlocker). John H (8)
2007-11-12 21:04:00 Just you.

Altho, it was lagging last night here. Every time I was replying to something.

2007-11-13 03:28:00 Lags every now and then. Occassionally it lasts a few days. Myth (110)
2007-11-13 04:31:00 lags sometime. But fast now! timmy101 (12484)
2007-11-17 02:27:00 Dammit, this site IS slow. While the red PC World banner snaps into place, the forum postings are about as slow to arrive as Michael Cullen's tax cuts. :badpc: Richard (739)
2007-11-17 02:32:00 Intermittant lagging, my guess is server overload - possibly from the RSS feeds. Erayd (23)
2007-11-17 02:36:00 More likely to be the add servers, Block them all and watch her snap into life.

When I jump on one of my work PC's without ad blocking the site has a habit of hanging, and looking at the bottom task bar its always an ad server causing the hold up.

2007-11-17 02:48:00 The adservers certainly make a huge difference, but it's by no means the whole problem. In the evenings (heaviest load time I assume) there is often lag on the PF1 server, not just the ad servers. Especially when posting replies, which makes me think it's either CPU or ram bottlenecks on the webserver or the database, possibly both. If the ram is getting low it'll be thrashing the disk a lot rather than caching stuff. Erayd (23)
