| 775533 | 2009-05-20 23:41:00 | I've been reading about UWB for couple of years now but there is no sign of it coming to NZ? Some interesting UWB gadgets are appearing (overseas) ... www.dlink.com www.gadgets-reviews.com www.gadgetfolder.com www.engadget.com www.engadget.com www.hometheatermag.com Not strictly about UWB, but this little gadget with UWB thrown in will be totally amazing ... www.engadget.com |

| 775538 | 2009-05-21 02:04:00 | Mmmm, cancer. :drool .............and the people who complain about cell phone towers probably (or will) bathe daily in a sea of microwaves at home and from cellphones clutched to their ears whilst driving.... " Intel envisions a world of pervasive wirelessly connectivity in the home and in the office for all- UWB can help deliver on that vision" |

| 775539 | 2009-05-21 03:14:00 | That was said jokingly, I have no issue with wireless devices, as long as they work, and we all have to die somehow... People who complain about cellphone towers giving their kids cancer have no right to do so, unless they remove all cellphones, microvaves, wireless routers, cordless phones, etc etc from their house. It's downright annoying, there was some crowd in Nelson who moaned about a tower going up near a playcentre...they still havn't found a new location for that tower as far as I'm aware, the residents of Atawhai will have crap XT reception. :p |

| 775541 | 2009-05-21 05:18:00 | Just out of curiosity, what's UWB? Bloody nerd talk! Well, yes, I mean Wireless USB but it has kinda been referred to as UWB in general. I guess UWB is the encompassing wireless technology whereas wireless USB is one type of gadget that use this technology. Probably this (en.wikipedia.org) In addition to Speedy's link, you can also read more about wireless USB at ... en.wikipedia.org My particular interests for this post is for Wireless USB devices. With wireless keyboard/mouse and wireless usb HDMI adapter, we can get the noisy HTPCs out of the living room but still enjoy access to all the power of a properly decked out HTPC. Tiny devices like the eeeBox is fine for basic use on a big screen TV, but it's not grunty enough to handle all multi-media tasks. |
