| 1438784 | 2017-09-05 21:40:00 | I use Firefox as my preferred browser. But about 6 months ago it has been given me popups every single day to update it. I did once, but it still continues. This is not a major hassle, just a blimmin annoyance. Any ideas why this should be? Thanks. |

You can alter the actions, go to Tools /Options /Advanced - Update Tab, alter to suit. 8257 If Its continually updating then there's something wrong, as in it may not be actually updating at all and crashing part way through. This can be caused by add-ons be bad, or various other problems. Manually check by going to Help /about Firefox -- it should auto check, or at least show if there are updates available. If you are using a different version than standard, Eg: Developer Edition receives updates almost every day. looking at mine, its up to date - 55.0.3 |

It was only a matter of time before I had to update regardless |

| 1438790 | 2017-09-07 01:05:00 | I don't get asked for updates - I'd better check my version and settings I have been a user and fan of Firefox since it started. But I am getting a bit upset with ti for other reasons. Many websites do not work on it as well as they do on Chrome. Eg the Herald (printing does not work) I think this be because websites put their main effort into Chrome as it has the largest market share. So I may bite the bullet and switch to Chrome. |

| 1438791 | 2017-09-07 02:53:00 | I am another long time user of Firefox, from when it first came out, changed over from Netscape - never used IE on principle. Over the past few months, i have been experiencing increasing problems with Firefox, it hangs up frequently, often just stops working, and I am getting at least 1 unexplained crash per week. I read recently that Firefox's market share has dropped to single figures, and that Chrome is now the most widely used browser. The article stated that a new Version of Firefox is to be released mid to late September in an attempt to redeem the browser and recover market share. |
