1438600 2017-08-28 00:04:00 My TV has a recording facility. All I need is a USB stick. I simply programme the TV to record and it does so. But what has surprised me is the amount of information that is broadcast with the programme.

When I access the recorded programme it shows the name of the programme plus a synopsis. I did not know that that information was broadcast with the programme. Did you know that? I was quite surprised.

1438601 2017-08-28 00:22:00 Does the TV have a record from stand bye feature. i.e. turned off?? paulw (1826)
1438602 2017-08-28 00:44:00 The TV does have the record from standby. The TV is switched off but turns itself on when recording. The only downside is that it uses the TV tuner to record a programme and it only has one tuner which means that you can't watch another programme while it is recording. That is fine if what you want to do is record a programme while you are away or doing something else. Nevertheless it is a very handy function. Roscoe (6288)
1438603 2017-08-28 01:11:00 You've looked at the tv guide on your tv? This is all in a broadcast stream. And as part of each program is information called EIT. Which is the current program and next program.

There are other tellys that will actually have dual tuners. And can record while watching. Also if I remember correctly a samsung one will allow you to watch a tvnz program while recording another - as they come off the same transponder.
